“Achhi Aadat Campaign” conducted in Railway Schools by JICA (India) 

21st Feb., 2022  to  25th Feb., 2022

  A one week “Acchi Aadat Campaign” launched  by IJ KAKEHASHI SERVICES PVT. LTD., New Delhi implementing partner for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in association with Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) from 21st Feb., 2022 to 25th Feb., 2022 in all the Railway Schools of NFR  has concluded on 25th Feb., 2022. The campaign was launched in reference to Railway Board’s letter No.E(W)2021/SC-2/6  dated 26-11-2021 with the objective to raise awareness among school students about the importance of good hygiene practices.

       The one week campaign had been successfully conducted in all the 15 Railway Schools under  N F Railway, including 10 Railway Schools in Assam State (five in Guwahati and one each in Lumding, Badarpur, Mariani, New Tinsukia and Dibrugarh), 03 in West Bengal, 01 in Dimapur(Nagaland) and 01 in Bihar. Total 3407 nos. of Students of primary classes from Class-I to VI participated in the “Acchi Aadat Campaign”. Face Masks provided by JICA were also distributed among the students.

    The purpose of the campaign is to introduce a simple and practical approach to hygiene and sanitation-related issues by promoting hand washing, nail cleaning and other hygiene practices such as wearing masks in a correct way among school children. 

       The moderators/representatives of the IJ KAKEHASHI SERVICES PVT. LTD., New Delhi on behalf of JICA explained with practical demo and video to the students the benefits of hand washing, nail trimming, saving water, mask wearing  and keeping distance. Railway School Teachers, Welfare Inspectors and Controlling Officers of the respective Schools have also participated in the campaign with full enthusiasm.
